Cars
A thriller called  Cars, by Harry Crews, was published in 1972 by New York, The main key element that happened in the story was when Herman wanted to stand out and said I want to eat a car. It started with a crash on the highway with a bunch of old automobiles. Herman’s sister Junell came to the crash with her tow truck to unscramble the mess people did on the highway. While Herman gets ready to eat the Ford Maverick the car Herman will eat bumper to bumper. My favorite character would have to be Herman because he’s animal for eating a car especially it’s a big one. He’s quite individual but then open up by saying he’ll eat a car to his father. A shy guy when a woman wants to talk to him he starts to get really nervous. The author unfold the story by telling someone is eating a car very interesting right ? Yes, someone is eating a whole car. “I’m going to eat a car because it’s there ( pg 27).” This quote was chosen because Herman had some guts to say it to his father. No one had no idea he would do this eating a car. My opinion on the novel was it was interesting intriguing for me because it got real good towards the end with him having trouble finishing the car. Some disturbing comments in the story but all in all it’s a great book he’s one exceptional author for writing this story. The book is boring at first with the boring things with the junk yard but then it gets into the story and you caught by the tone of the book you want more to read. I would recommend this story to individual because if you like someone that writes great story this author is the author to eat. Get it! All for thumbs up.

  1. I was so intrigued when you told me you wanted to ready a Harry Crews book. I had read him and wrote about him in graduate school so I was hoping you would like it. From what I remembered I thought you would.
